UI is providing a keynote address on its work on Urban Encapsulation at the University of Aarhus on 9th-10th May 2016 at the conference on Urbanism in the Anthropocene organised by the Centre for Strategic Urban Research. The is interdisciplinary research collaboration between the University of Copenhagen, the Aarhus School of Architecture and Aalborg University is supported by Realdania Foundation (http://byforskning.ku.dk/English). The purpose of the workshop is to explore how anthropogenic change may reshape urban response, infrastructural reconfigurations and everyday life. Professor Simon Marvin will be discussing UI recent work on Urban Encapsulation that looks critically at attempts to artificially recreate urban atmospheres in large scale interiorised forms to deal with a denuded and more insecure collective atmosphere.
