About Vicky

Vicky obtained degrees from Manchester Metropolitan University BA (1997); MA (1998) and PhD (2004) and the University of Portsmouth (MSc, 2005). Vicky has also been awarded a Post Graduate Teaching Certificate (2009). After teaching, research and management appointments at Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Manchester and the University of Salford, Vicky joined the Urban Institute in September 2016.

Drawing on her research background, Vicky coordinates support across a portfolio of UK and EU research grants. These include:

  • The Mistra Urban Futures Local Interaction Platform – UK funded by Mistra Urban Futures, who receive funding from the Swedish Environmental Research Foundation
  • Jam and Justice: Co-producing Urban Governance for Social Innovation funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, Urban Transformations programme
  • Whose Knowledge Matters? Competing and Contesting Knowledge Claims in 21st Century Cities funded by Economic and Social Research Council through the Open Research Area
  • CHIME: Cultural Heritage and Improvised Music in Europe as part of the Joint Programming Initiative on Heritage Plus scheme funded by Arts and Humanities Research Council.
