The Urban Institute is delighted to welcome Victoria Habermehl to the team. She has a PhD in Geography from the University of Leeds on organising in-against-and beyond crisis in Buenos Aires, Argentina through the economy, state and territory. Victoria’s research focusses on everyday life in cities and the antagonistic processes involved in urban politics – embodied in social reproduction, neighbourhood organising, gentrification and displacement.
Victoria is a Research Associate on the ESRC ‘Whose Knowledge Matters? Competing and Contesting Knowledge Claims in 21st Century Cities. The project explores the functioning of citizen knowledge in urban decision-making and strategy development. This project sits within the co-producing urban urbanisms theme in the Urban Institute. Victoria is also part of the Mistra Urban Futures Contested Cities international networks.
